...an earth day computer recycling event
April 19th
10:00am-1:00pm
What do hazardous waste, restorative justice, and access to technology have in common?
On Saturday, April 19, 2008 CTEP AmeriCorps, MN Computers for Schools, PQ Digital Divide
Initiative, community partners, and AmeriCorps members are sponsoring a metro-wide Earth Day event addressing all three issues using an innovative, neighborhood-based approach to electronics recycling and reuse.
This event will highlight full circle recycling and reuse efforts around the Twin Cities to encourage and educate residents about responsible recycling of e-waste. In addition, events at neighborhood sites will demonstrate how area agencies are helping bridge the digital divide in low-income and recent Immigrant communities.
The daylong event will include computer drop-off and recycling at several Twin City area non-profit community sites, and computer refurbishing, technology literacy training, and home placement workshops at additional agency sites.
